I’m Wayne Mathe. I grew up boating in South Louisiana and have spent a lifetime on the water, starting at just 10 years old. After college, I joined the United States Navy, where I qualified to pilot destroyers and operate advanced marine vessels including hydrofoils and hovercraft. I later taught ship and small boat handling along with coastal navigation to junior naval officers in San Diego. I retired at the rank of Commander. Today, I am a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captain.
Boating should be one of life’s greatest pleasures—but for many people, it becomes a source of stress instead of enjoyment. You may have heard the saying: “The two happiest days in a boat owner’s life are the day they buy it and the day they sell it.” I believe that doesn’t have to be true. Most challenges come down to two things:
That’s where I can help.
I provide personalized, hands-on boating instruction tailored to your experience level and goals. Whether you are:
I will work with you step-by-step—from selection and outfitting to real-world operation, docking, and navigation.
If you’re not yet a boat owner, you can even train on my vessel—a custom 30-foot center console by SeeVee Boats powered by twin Mercury V8 Verado engines—so you can build confidence before making
your investment.
At the end of the day, boating should be about freedom, confidence, and enjoying time on the water with family and friends—not uncertainty or stress.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be glad to help you get there.
